"I was riding my tandem in Koehler, WI last Friday when we had a mechanical problem that quickly became a major, bad event.  I was knocked unconscious for over 45 minutes and was taken to an emergency room in Sheboygan, WI.  When they saw the x-rays of my pelvis, they transferred me a large Milwaukee trauma center where I am today.

    They have studied the case and have decided to operate rather than let it heal on its own.  They felt it would better long term to get the fractured piece back where it belongs.  I just have to trust their judgment.  Linda, my friend who was a nurse, said the x-rays weren't pretty, nor was the accident.  She said she is going to pick another sport.  She was banged up, but no broken bones that needed setting.

     I'm sorry the accident happened, but there's nothing I can do about it but heal at this point.  I'm comfortable and heal fast.  Thanks for all of your concerns. "
