Autumn is finally here and it won't be long 'til we fall back an hour and I'll be riding home in the dark once again! This year I gave up my spot in the parking ramp since I only used it 2 -3 times a year. Of course, I got the company to agree that they would pay the daily parking fee should I need to drive occasionally - to which they glady agreed. A few 10 dollar fees beats paying 60 bucks a month for an empty spot !

So that's enough of that! Last month Larry did not ride a century a day! But he still led the men with 16 centuries and 2023 miles. Second was Indy Bob Breedlove, who logged 10 centuries and 1817 miles for the month. Jeff Pierce took third place with 9 centuries followed by Michael Kamenish and Dan Dwyer tying for 4th and 5th with eight 100 mile rides for the month. Paul Carpenter was third in mileage for the month at 1678 miles; Jeff Pierce logged 1429 for the month and Dave Thompson made the short list again with 1326 miles.

For the women Mad Dog Melissa Hall of the LBC topped both lists with 10 centuries and 1399 miles. Lynn Pierce had the next highest century totals with four centuries. Diane Goodwin showed up to tie Elizabeth Young for third/fourth with three centuries - and Cathy  Hill ran away with 5th place having 1 century for September... Actually, there may have been more women with 100 mile rides in September - it is National Centry month after all - but the results I get from the database are for the top five in each group, and if there were more women with a single ride they would have been dropped. Sorry! If you want to be listed let me know and i'll see what I can do! Kay Covington once again logged big mileage but no centuries - 1105 for the month. Next was Young again, barely topping Merry Vander Linden with 745 miles to Merry's 720. And finally Cathy Hill, number five again with 602 miles for t September.

Quote of the month from Dave Thompson on his tour of Utah: Over the Hogs Back Ridge and then a white-knuckle dive into calf creek canyon. 1000ft drop in 2m. The climb back out had grades of 10-14% along with rain and 20mph headwinds. I had my lowest avg ever on a road ride.
