Welcome!
|
2007 was a great year for UltraMidwest events. And the 2008 season is off to a
great start! The Balltown Classic and Balltown century were held on Saturday the
31st of May. There were more participants this year than ever, as 28 riders rode
the hills of Balltown and nearly all finished! There were more 100 mile racers this
year, including a mixed tandem and a recumbent. Bill Ford took the overall best
time for men, and this year's sole woman rider, Randy Love, established a new course record for women. For complete results, see the Balltown home page!
Now get ready for the Metamora 4X50. Although we considered moving the race to another
location, we decided to keep the old Black Partridge Park
start and improve the
route if possible. The MM Race is scheduled for
August 9th, 2008.
And the big one - the UltraMidwest 24 hour Challenge - along with the 12 and 6 hour
races will once again be held at the Riverdale Jr High outside of Port Byron, IL.
Those events will be held on the Saturday before Labor Day, August 30, 2008.
In 2008, UltraMidwest is again producing races that are sanctioned by the Ultramarathon
Cycling Association; the UltraCycling Cup, and the World Cup. We are
proud to be associated with the UMCA and all the cyclists that compete in these
races!
