Happy 2011 to all of our randonneuring friends. It's a Paris-Brest-Paris year - are you qualified? If not, we are presenting a complete series (200-600K) early in the season, and they will repeat through the June 600K. We will be updating this site with registration information, and routes in the coming weeks, but I am postiing the dates now, so you can
better plan your 2011 season.
Those of you that endured (they do call it endurance cycling...) the heat and
hills of our 2010 brevets will
be pleased to know that we have completely revamped our routes. Not only are the
2011 options more rider friendly - not so hilly - but they explore more of the
southeast part of the state. The weather, however, remains unmanageable.
Several of the 2011 dates allow riders to choose a variety of distance options.
Each route piggybacks off the previous distance, so if the longest brevet for a
given day is the 400K, a rider may do the 200, 300 or 400K ride. This is the
2011 schedule.
All brevets will start in Eldridge, Iowa at the Quality Inn.
Start time for all brevets is 6:00 AM.
Directions:
From Interstate 80, Davenport, IA. North on Highway 61 (Brady Street Exit) to the first Eldridge exit. Quality Inn is on the other side of the highway, to the left.
From the north (Dubuque, DeWitt) south on highway 61 t0 Eldridge, Iowa. Quality
Inn is at the first intersection to the right.
